Trumpeter 1/72 M4A1(76)W Sherman

US Medium Tank

20mm Scale

Brand new, sealed and unbuilt.

Ref No : TU07222

The designation M4A1 was applied to the M4 Sherman series which used a one piece cast hull with it's distinctive round shape. The M4A1 was upgunned with a 76mm M1 high velocity gun and a T23 turret with the hull front now having two hatches one for the driver and one for the co-driver. The tank also had wet storage protection for the ammunition hence the "W".

Initially the tanks were not well received but following their usage during Operation Cobra in Normandy in July 1944 they became more popular. Although at the end of the day they continued to suffer from the same weaknessess that all Sherman's suffered from during the North West European campaign in 1944-45

Whether for wargaming or just building for display this brand new kit is a beauty. Not to be missed.
