Trumpeter 1/72 KV-1 Model 1941

"Small Turret" Version

Russian Heavy Tank

Brand new, sealed and unbuilt.

Named after a marshall of the Soviet Union - Klementy Voroshilov - th KV heavy tank was the third in a trio of designs in 1938 for a replacement for the T-35. The main features of the tank were a centrally mounted turret containing a 76.2mm gun and two MG, a driver's compartment at the front with a hull MG position to the left of the driver and a rear mounted diesel engine. The wide tracks helped to reduce ground pressure and the vehicle had good armour protection.

At the time of the German invasion of the Soviet Union, 500 KV were in service. Although eventually outclassed by the Tiger I in 1942, the KV was subsequently redesigned to house an 85mm gun in the KV-85.

Whether for wargaming or just building for display this brand new kit is a beauty. Not to be missed.
